Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail, made with cachaça (sugarcane liquor), sugar and fruits. Follow our step-by-step caipirinha recipe for a refreshing cocktail. We only use the best ingredients for our drinks – fresh fruits from our garden and our favourite cachaça Santo Grau Coronel Xavier Chaves from Minas Gerais.

This Caipirinha is made with cajú (cashew nut fruit). Cajú is a beautiful fruit originally from the northeast of Brazil. It has an unusual flavor that is popular as a juice. The top of the fruit has the cashew nut inside.

How to make caiprinhas

Let me run you through the steps to making the best Caipirinha of your life:

  1. Roll the lime on your chopping board with the heel of your hand to get all the lovely juices going. Cut up a lime and a cashew nut fruit and put it into a glass.
  2. Add the sugar and then spend a couple of minutes bashing and squishing it all up with the end of a wooden rolling pin to really get all those flavours going.
  3. Add the passionfruit.
  4. Half fill the glass with crushed ice, and bash again.
  5. Pour in the Cachaça and stir well.
  6. Have a little taste then tweak the acidity to your liking, adding more sugar if needed.

Et voila! You’re ready to try the amazing Taíba Surf & Yoga drink. Saúde!
